Yamaha U1D upright piano Click here for a list of yamahas (including all pianos)
Yamaha U1D upright pianos have the richest and most interesting tone of all Yamaha upright pianos; they are a more accurate copy of the German pianos that the Yamahas' construction is based on. Their construction is more traditional, using far less plastic and metal than more modern Yamahas. We rate these fine pianos very highly, and often use them for hiring to top classical concerts. The casework on the Yamaha U1D has a laquer base, unlike the Yamaha U1H and U1G. This means that it does not get refinished to perfection in the same way as the later models, and therefore usually has some minor blemishes. Please note that the Yamaha U1D does not have a third pedal fitted. However, a practice felt can be added if required, at the current cost of £150+VAT.
