Welcome to our piano encyclopaedia, launched in 2012. Our intention is to provide information that will be not only interesting but also useful in helping you to make decisions about restoring or buying a piano. In this regard we also recommend our "Common Makes available in the UK" page.
Please note that this encyclopedia is not exhaustive and we will try to add information bit by bit. Meanwhile you will find much information about choosing a piano, Restoration and a list of common makes on other pages on our website. Well known top quality makes such as Bechstein, Bluthner, Steinway and Yamaha have their own pages.
