| For me, learning the piano is a personal journey of exploration, inspiration and dedication. Lessons are tailored to the student's needs and interests, in a fun and open-minded atmosphere. The lessons will also develop the key musical areas of technique, note reading, theory, improvising, memorising, harmony and sight-reading along the way. |
I started learning the piano formally when I was eight years old, and developed over the years and while at the University of Cambridge through private study, ABRSM exams (I attained the highest Classical and Jazz grades), formal education, regular concert performances and courses with Nelly Ben-Or, the leading exponent of piano playing with the Alexander Technique.
I first began teaching at age 13, initially mentored by my own piano teacher, and have taught adults, teenagers and children. I currently teach on the cusp of North London and the City, 5 minutes from Old Street tube station.
