Yamaha U3H and U3G upright pianos had the longest production run of all Yamaha U3 upright pianos. They have a rich warm tone and a medium touch.

Yamaha U3H and U3G upright pianos are very consistent in quality, though the "loops" which attach the butt springs generally need replacing. This work is carried out in our workshop before sale. We regard the Yamaha U3H and U3G as some of the best modern uprights ever made. They are used extensively by top musicians.

Yamaha U3G upright piano

Yamaha U3G upright pianos are extremely similar to the more common U3H though a lot less of them were produced. They tend to be slightly richer in tone, though tone can vary between pianos. They have a rich warm tone and a medium touch.
We regard the Yamaha U3G as one of the best modern uprights ever made. It is used extensively by top musicians.
